MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to provide housing and facilitate a continuum of services for homeless veterans in Tucson and Pima County, Arizona through an exceptional, performance based philosophy.
We value the dignity of individuals and their ability to make healthy decisions.
COMIN' HOME, INC.
A 501-(c)-3 non-profit operating in Tucson, AZ since January 1989, Comin’ Home began with the Southern Arizona VA Health Center (SAVAHCS) for a six month Homeless Chronically Mentally Ill contract.
Through the years key partners have come forward assisting us meet the mission; Jackson Employment Center, the Interfaith Coalition for the Homeless, City of Tucson and Pima County.
SAVAHCS services expand to meet current needs as we provide veterans housing, a supervised and safe drug-free environment and opportunity to regain their health and wellness.
NOTE:
Since it’s inception in 1989 Comin’ Home has provided services for over 3,700 homeless veterans. Not since the Vietnam War has this country seen the overwhelming amount of homeless veterans that we are seeing today. This is not just because of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or other illnesses as a result of the current war. Our veterans are being discharged, finding a home and unable to find work. As a result they are exhausting their benefits and savings, then finding themselves without a place to live. Today we have more homeless women veterans than ever before in history.
You can help make a difference.
Comin' Home serves veterans who agree to eliminate barriers causing homelessness and complete their tour of duty by moving to independent living.
Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Guard and Reservists.
